Hi 👋 I’m a mother, homesteader, nurse, milkmaid and cheesemaker located in Northern/Interior BC Canada. Together my husband and I raise our 3 sweet children on a cattle ranch, along the banks of the Fraser river. In the spring of 2021 I started a business dedicated to teaching homesteaders how to turn their milk into cheese. Cheese From Scratch was inspired by my journey as a cheesemaker and milkmaid. When I began making cheese 7 years ago, it was extremely lonely, confusing and honestly, in our current society, it even felt a little taboo. It was difficult to figure out what I needed to know and what I didn’t, how I could fit cheesemaking into our life and how in the end, I could bring healthy, safe and tasty cheese to our family’s table. My aim over the last year has been to teach, inspire and support other homesteaders and milkmaids as they embark on a journey filled with food freedom and cheese.
